This is a very special and completely unique piece - a sculpture of the Black Madonna of Montserrat that hides a secret compartment. I asked my master jeweller to fix a secret lid to the bottom of the piece  to keep a crystal, a small prayer, or some hair.

The Black Madonna of Montserrat is venerated on an ancient hill above Barcelona, the site of an ancient temple to Venus. For thousands of years the Divine Feminine has been venerated on this site, and this statue represents not only the Christian incarnation of such energy but all manifestations of the powerful protection of women. Remain seen, loved, and protected with this talisman. The Divine love of the Virgin Mary is unmatched and unwavering. Her many facets provide elevated, multidimensional protection, allowing you to journey through the unknown with peace of mind. I bought a collection of these antique solid silver talismans from one of my fabourite dealers in Catalunian antiquities in Barcelona. We have five altogether, each quite different. Every one is over 150 years old and were originally worn by women to invoke the protective power of the Black Madonna. Catalunia is a state with a fieerce histiory of resistence to colonial violence, and the Madonna of Montserrat is the patron saint of Catalunia. Via Fora! (Out to the Streets!)
