Safavid Jewels

This unusual and heavy Persian ring dates to just after the end of the Safavid period, circa 1750 to 1800. The ring is large, heavy and unusual, transformed into a money talisman, this piece will become a family heirloom. The seal is made of carnelian and engraved in cursive Persian ‘nasta’līq’ calligraphy. 

17.6 grams. It is unmarked but tests as high-grade silver. The stone measures 19mm x 12mm.
